Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said
“I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this”
(putting his index and middle fingers together) Sahih Bukhari
Of the many members of society, orphans are among the most vulnerable. This is particularly true in countries where there is little social support and where services are largely inadequate.
A lot of our current appeals, whilst helping the community, are aimed at children, but mainly orphans (or OVC; Orphans, and Vulnerable Children). Children who have lost both parents/guardians through hunger, poverty, AIDS, and war-torn oppression are exploited, vulnerable to the dangers of abuse, and can die before their time if not cared for.
Our orphan programme in Malawi and Syria not only houses orphans but educates them in local practices and both secular and Islamic education. We aim to restore an OVC’s smile. Look at our Orphans page and see how far your donations can go.
To date, we have spent over a whopping £80,000 on orphans. This amount made a difference to thousands of orphans. That’s an amazing number of lives changed by your donations alone!
